A few helpful (hopefully) tips.
NOTE: This page is brand new. I will be adding more tips soon.
The Tips:
AVOID LINK ROT OR LOSE VALUABLE RESOURCES – Link rot is a real thing. It always has been since the early days of the internet. It is what happens when a website no longer exists on the internet or has been made private either partially or entirely, or inaccessible to site visitors in some way. If you see something on the internet that you will need or want to access later, you better save a personal copy of it for yourself, as a note, pdf, or appropriate download, depending on what the content is. Otherwise the loss is on you when that resource is no longer available online.
ONLINE SHOPPING – For Walmart app shoppers (and really any online shopping app): Keep a list of the items you put in your shopping cart with the price when you are putting items there for holding until ready to purchase. That way you can see if they try to rip you off when you come back ready to purchase. We all know prices change constantly, but there is big talk going around online about “surge pricing”. We have to stay on top of our expenses. It wouldn’t hurt to go check your cart daily if you can to eliminate any surprises until you are ready to buy. It is so easy to just go click the “proceed with checkout” button and not notice that an item had a price increase and end up spending more money than was intended.
X LISTS AND MONITORING BEFORE FOLLOWING – A tip for using X – PRIVATE LIST! Seriously make private lists, put people on them, and mute them. This gives you the ability to “follow” without actually following. Subscribe to X Premium, and use X Pro (formerly Tweetdeck). With X Pro, you can monitor your lists, and those you put on them with the content they post will appear in those lists. That way you can trial the accounts you may be interested in actually following, or just interact if you wish without ever following them. I use this method to reserve my following for those I deem to deserve my follow, and to be appearing on my Following tab.
