2026-04-17-FRI-18:12-CST – SHE ACTUALLY GOT THE PROBLEM FIXED – Apartment rental companies love to collect your rent, but they don’t like to fix their broke property much. I am in shock. My apartment manager finally got off her ass and got something fixed. When I moved into my new apartment unit recently, I discovered that 2 out of 3 electric outlets over the counter in the kitchen were not working. Based on the excessively high rate of rent these days, this was not acceptable to me, especially considering that is an issue that should have been fixed from the get-go during the time that they stopped working when prior tenants were renting the unit. My apartment has a really nice kitchen considering how old the buildings are, and I want to be able to use my kitchen to it’s full potential. I want to be able to set out my appliances and have space to plug them in when I’m ready to prepare whatever type of food I want to eat. You know, simple things you would expect to be able to do in your kitchen. I sent the apartment manager a email and explained all of this to her, and to my surprise she sent someone in who replaced the receptacles. So now I can start functioning like a modern home keeper in my kitchen. Yay! I have ordered a George Foreman grill so I can make hamburgers now that I have more places to plug it in.
2026-04-17-FRI-18:05-CST – ABOUT PERPLEXITY AI – The more I use Perplexity, the more I appreciate how it will “set you straight” when you’re asking off the wall questions like you think you know the outcome and it perceives you’re not as smart as you think you are. “But to answer the question the way you phrased it.”

2026-04-30-THU-09:00-CST – A CHANGE TO LATEST NEWS POSTS – This morning I have made a change to how the Latest News posts are published to the blog. Rather than rounding up 10 articles per post, I’m publishing 1 article per post instead. This will hopefully help to build the blog with higher quality content, and increase the publishing rate, and drive more traffic to this website. I think it will be better this way also to place focus on one story at a time.
2026-04-09-THU-01:32-CST – NEW TRENDS 2026 PAGE – A new Trends 2026 page is now available. This page will be used for listing all of the trending topics and hashtags posts available on the blog for 2026.
2026-04-09-THU-01:04-CST – TRENDS FOR 2026-04-08-WED – The top trending hashtags and topics on X, plus top Google searches for Wednesday, April 8th, 2026 have been posted here on the blog. Going forward the trends will be posted here on site rather than scattered in various posts on social media.
2026-04-05-SUN-20:15-CST – NEW COLLECTIONS PAGE – My new Collections page is on site. I’m going to start posting some personal blog posts about some of the things I like to collect. This page will serve as the hub page for those blog posts.

Below is a look at some other content that may interest you (under construction at the moment).
Lemmy:
Lemmy is an open-source, self-hostable link aggregation and discussion platform, similar to Reddit or Hacker News, but operating on a decentralized network called the Fediverse. Users can subscribe to “communities” (similar to subreddits) on different servers, or “instances,” and interact with users and communities across the entire network using the ActivityPub protocol. This decentralized model offers alternatives to centralized social media by promoting user control, data ownership, and community autonomy.
I recently discovered Lemmy, and although I haven’t signed up for an account there yet, I have been checking in on some of the discussions that seemed interesting enough to follow, or that may offer some useful resources. Below is a list of some of the topics I check in on from time to time.
