Welcome to the SURFMAN.co Collections page.
Like many people, I have a few collections. Some collections are slightly valuable (probably only sentimental value to me), and others really aren’t worth much.
I enjoy collecting vintage tech items like radios, boomboxes, old computer hardware, music memorabilia, buttons, pins, and books.

PANASONIC SL-SX420 – Purchased on Ebay from Justin’s Items on Saturday, March 4th, 2026 at 6:52 PM CST. Received notice of shipping on Sunday, March 5th, 2026 at 5:48 PM CST. There is a meme going around on the internet about the early 2000s era Panasonic SL-SX420 Portable CD Player (see it here) that was put on display in a museum as a nostalgic item. I have seen the meme at least a couple of times. Recently I saw it again, and it sparked my interest as a vintage electronics collector to go on Ebay and see if I could find one. I did in fact find one, and the seller says that it is new and unopened, and appears that way from the photos. It was expensive ($300), but I splurged and ordered it thanks to being able to use PayPal Pay In 4. I have decided not to post too much about this item until I have it in my hands. Also I am not going to be opening the item. I don’t see a point in doing that since I bought it as a collectible. There are other similar cd players I can use if I want to listen to my cds. For now, here are a few resources I’ve dug up about the item so far:
